Meet the Maker

Hello, Welcome to Tinker Tyke Threads. My name is Shantel and I am the owner and Sewist. I am a 37 years old fun loving, generous, strong and adventurous woman. When I was 18 I joined the Air Force on a whim and found myself stationed in Japan where I stayed for 6 years. Ultimately, I decided it was time to move back to the states. En route I was diverted from Virginia to Washington state. I lived there for 11 years while building a family. I am a single mom now to my amazing children; Nissi (9y), Acacia (7y), Hope (Angel Baby), Hephzibah (6y), and Sabella (3y).
Much of my love for sewing began when I was young. My mother and grandmothers all helped cultivate that love within me. From there I took some basic Home Ec classes in Jr. High and High School, but nothing really took off until after having my children. It was so much fun making them clothing. Since then I haven't stopped growing and building on my sewing skills. Every day I build brick upon brick, gaining new skills, to provide the exceptional quality you deserve.
